Superhero Trivia Question

It's the second Wednesday of the month and so today is the superhero trivia question.  I'm taking these from 1001 Comic Book Trivia Questions by Rich Meyer.

This question is ridiculously easy:  What super-villain was inadvertently responsible for the formation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers?

Answer in the comments.  First one to get it right gets a $5 gift card to Amazon in their email or Facebook.  (Again, I'm not mailing a $5 gift card.  I'm not sure Amazon would even let you do that.)

If you aren't first, never fear!  One respondent will be selected by random number generator to receive a PDF copy of my book, A Hero's Journey!  If you already have it, give it to someone else!

Also I've decided on what I call the "Andrew Leon Rule" where the same person cannot win the trivia question each month.  So if you win this month you won't be eligible to win the $5 for another 3 months (until October).  But you can still win the participation prize.  Neil Vogler is already disqualified this month for winning September's question and Sandra Almazan is disqualified for winning October's question.

Good luck!!!

BTW, later today Episode 10 of Dark Origins, Tales of the Scarlet Knight Volume 0 will post, so you don't want to miss that or you'll be completely lost...

Hey, I just want to let you know that your whole grumpy bulldog thing had nothing to do with my post today. I was actually inspired by this dog down the street that bashes its head against the fence (and sometimes breaks through) any time anyone goes past. Seriously, it had nothing to do with you.

Yup, in both the comics and the movie it was Loki who got the Avengers together. Though in the comics the cast of the Avengers was different with like Ant-Man and Wasp Man or some crap like that, not Captain America and the Hulk.

I think the Hulk was in Avengers #1. Now I'm not remembering. They didn't pull Cap out of the ice until #4, though. I think it was #4. I guess I could look all that up to see...
