In the near-darkness and without her glasses, she could only blunder around, feeling the walls like a blind person. There had to be something here.

It makes me think her 'glasses' are also magical if they allow her to see in near darkness. I know mine are useless in similar situations.
It sounds like to me that she might be in some underground cave area looking for a light switch.
Pat, that sounds horrible. In near darkness AND no glasses? I'd be Helen Keller in there.
What has to be there? Why isn't she wearing her glasses? What's going to happen? Why? Why? Why? Good hook!
