Superhero Trivia Question #4

It's the second Wednesday of the month and so today is the superhero trivia question.  I'm taking these from 1001 Comic Book Trivia Questions by Rich Meyer.  If you have a problem with the question or answer, it's his fault.

This one is a multiple choice question, so you've got a 1-in-5 chance of being right.  Here we go, hands on buzzers:

Which superhero persona has Dick Grayson NOT adopted at some point in the DC Universe:
A.  Robin
B.  Red Robin
C.  Nightwing
D.  Batman
E.  None of the Above

Answer in the comments.  First one to get it right gets a $5 gift card to Amazon in their email or Facebook.  If you aren't first, never fear!  One respondent will be selected by random number generator to receive a $1 gift card.  Yes, you can give $1 gift cards.  Buy yourself a cheap eBook or MP3 or use it to get a dollar off something else.  The winner for this will be announced tomorrow.  The same person cannot win both gift cards because while that would be more convenient for me it wouldn't really be fair for everyone else.

Also I've decided on what I call the "Andrew Leon Rule" where the same person cannot win the trivia question each month.  So if you win this month you won't be eligible to win the $5 for another 3 months (until November).  But you can still win the $1 participation prize.  Craig Edwards is disqualified for winning June's question and Briane Pagel is disqualified for winning July's question..

Good luck!!!

Tomorrow the winners will be announced and I'll ramble on about the clash of the Batmen, Knightsend...

I am eligible again this month, right?
The answer would be E unless we're talking about the strict DC Universe.

Yes you are eligible this month. And you are correct. As I said it was any point in the DC Universe, which from what I gather is very complicated with all the reboots and parallel universes and whatnot.

Yeah, I can't even keep up with it. I was uncertain on the Red Robin option, because that was in Kingdom Come, and that's considered an Elseworlds type of thing, so not strictly -the- DC Universe.

I really wish I could have afforded to get the first few months of the new re-boot, but with 52 comics a month, I just couldn't do it.

I was going to guess Red Robin because I knew he adopted the others.

Sorry, I have no idea. But if you add a sizable cash prize I'll start boning up on this stuff.

I'm going with what Mike said...None of the above.

Nightwing is a name derived from Kryptonian folklore. Dick adopted this identity (which he's had ever since) during the New Teen Titans era that was immensely popular during the 80s.

Anyone who needs to know more about any of these identities, here's a primer:

He was the first Robin. He assumed the cowl of Batman twice, once following Bruce Wayne's return following the Knightfall/KnightQuest/Knight's End saga and again after Batman R.I.P. He was Red Robin in the alternate future depicted in Kingdom Come. He assumed the identity of Nightwing after he grew up.

I would have said Red Robin, because I thought that was an overpriced hamburger place. Unless that was during a time that he was experimenting with corporate sponsors.
