Two-Fer Tuesday #17: A Mystery

It's Tuesday, which means another Two Fer Tuesday.  If you're not acquainted with the rules, I use a random number generator to pick a page and paragraph to pluck two sentences from.  Let's see what we get this week.

Page Number:  48
Paragraph Number: 9

Another mysterious (or just vague) one:

Emma shook her head.  This isn’t real, she told herself.

Ooh, what's going on?

Tomorrow's Practical Superheroism talks about weapons--exciting stuff!...

I'm beginning to question the randomness of your selection of these lines. How is it that they all drip with portent? Of course, there's the probability that you story is just that good. I expect this is the case. If I picked randomly from one of my novels I'd get something like: She was bored, washed her hair and went to bed early.

Simple, yet effective. How many times have we told ourselves that. These Two for Tuesday are fascinating.

I like!

Also ... I should try this with my work in progress a few times. At least I'd have a blog post.

Clearly something that is not real. I suspect an elaborate dream sequence!

I have no idea what is going on, but I'm willing to bet she's having trouble coming to terms with it. Whatever it is.
