Will the magic-themed "Now You See It" top the paltry $10.3M brought in by "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" its opening weekend in March?
Answer YES, NO, or THEY WILL TIE (unlikely) in the comments along with your picks.
Results will post on Sunday.
6 comments:
1) Furious 6 @ 38 million
2) After Earth @36 million
3) Now You See Me @23 million
Yes, "Now You See Me" will make more than double of "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone."
I thought way too much about this.
I guess I'll go with
1. Will Smith in "Too Bad Oblivion Took The Better Name For This Live-Action Wall-E remake", $45 mil.
2. 6 Fast 6 Furious, which is how all of those should be named. $40 mil.
3. Hangover 3, which I should be able to come up with some stupid nickname for but can't because I can't make myself care enough to try, I almost didn't even have the energy to type the name, as the existence of this movie is so depressing that just acknowledging it in type is degrading my soul.... $20 mil.
"Now You See Me" will make less. WAY less.
F&F6 made more in its opening weekend than F&F5 with good reason: The Rock. Plus, the movie is good brainless fun and I enjoy them.
1. Fast & Furious 6 $45M
2. Now you see me $30M
3. Hangover 3 $25M
YES "Now You See Me" will make more. WAY more.
The Magic Eight Ball says
1. F&F 6: $40m
2. After Earth: $35m
3. Now You See Me: $20m (Man, I am so torn between this and Star Trek which I think will also have a $20m-ish weekend, but I'm giving the edge to Now You See Me. I guess. Bah!)
Which means I'm going with "more" as the answer to the bonus.
I remembered!
Fast and Furious: 41 million
After Earth 32 million
Now You See Me 20 million.
I'm going with YES on the bonus question.
Just for the hell of it and to totally bore you, Fast and Furious 6 was the number one box office movie in Britain last weekend. I know, whatever.
