Phony Photos: Alternate Dimensions

Last week I showed you original Emma Earl and then alternate universe Emma Earl.  This week we have an even greater before-and-after with Emma's friend Becky Beech.  You can see the original Becky in the Character Bios and other places, but here to refresh your memory:

And now the alternate universe version looks very different:

So obviously Becky is a lot skinnier in this version, sort of anorexic looking.  And blond too.  The idea is that in the alternate universe Becky was adopted by Emma's family at a young age, thus she never gained so much weight to become a big fat whale.  As with Emma she's a bit more fun too, caused mostly by not having to take care of a bunch of little sisters or worry about her mother's drunken rampages or anything like that, so this Becky dyes her hair and wears more makeup and sexier clothes and just generally looks a lot hotter.  Yeah, baby!

Tuesday is NOT another Two-Fer.  Instead, there will be something else that's possibly even less interesting...

Plus-sized women can look hot. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, you know. Someone just isn't automatically hot because they are anorexic.

If there were really that many chubby chasers we'd probably have more fat chicks in Playboy and the like. Anyway it's hypocritical I know being a big fat guy who doesn't like big fat chicks. But there you are.

Um, I was gonna comment, but after reading Michael and your comments, well, I'm not sure what to say. ;p

Don't forget that Rubenesque women buy books too. I know I need to be careful because there might be one or two thin women reading Chubby Chatterbox.

Maybe you should stop reading so much Playboy Patrick. :P
But I don't think it's hypocritical to be a "big fat guy" and not like big women.
I'm a short girl but prefer taller guys. It's just a preference.
Though I do agree with Michael. There are a lot of plus-sized women that look
amazing. Well, there's my 2 cents.

I had no idea this was such a controversial topic.

I'm trying desperately to not be spoiled here, but it's hard. So I intend to only skim your posts related to the world of Emma until I'm done with the first novel.

Playboy is the ultimate dream Patrick. We (women) all see ourselves as beings of lust - no matter our size. There is such a thing as too skinny; just as there is the opposite of too fat. I'm fat; no hedging at all there. I still get guys who want to date me and the first thing they say is "what does fat have to do with sex." So a girl is nothing but skin stretched across bones; does that make her more desireable; more sexy?

I hat fashion magazines; they tell girls that the only way a guy will like them is if they starve and be stupid and subservient. But thin.

Well, I'm sure your characters have a lot more depth than body weight. I look forward to reading their stories.

When you're writing about two characters who are attracted to each other, I think about 90% of the reasons have to be not about physical descriptions. Otherwise, it comes across even shallower than it does in real life.
