A to Z Challenge: Quickswitch vs Quickstrike

There are a couple of Autobots with Q names but they aren’t really important ones. Quickswitch was the Autobot answer to Sixshot the Decepticon that had six transformation modes. Coming along in the fifth series of toys, though, Quickswitch didn’t really get into any TV episodes or comic books and thus was pretty forgettable.

Apparently his toy is going to get reissued this year.

Around the same time was another Autobot Q-name: Quickmix. He was a cement mixer who as one of the second line of Targetmasters was a little smaller with two guns that transformed into little dudes. Like Quickswitch he was too late to get into any TV episodes or comic books--at least in the US.

In the second season of the Beast Wars TV show they introduced Fuzors, which were hybrid creatures of two or more animals. For instance the Maximal Silverbolt was a wolf with the wings of an eagle. The Predacon Fuzor introduced on the show was called Quickstrike. He mostly had the body of a scorpion, but his tail was a snake’s head. That sounds like a nightmare, doesn’t it?

In the show Quickstrike was not all that bright and had kind of a Yosemite Sam voice. He was pretty much just another of Megatron's minions until his untimely death in the last episode of the series.

His name has been used on a couple of other toys but they aren't the same character--at least I don't think so.

Quickswitch is pretty cool the way he has so many different forms. He needs to be in the next movie.
