A to Z Challenge: IG-88/IG-11

IG-88 was one of the bounty hunters shown on the bridge of Darth Vader's ship in The Empire Strikes Back.  He was the robot one.  Like every other character in that scene (Boba Fett, Bossk, Dengar, etc) he got a figure made back in the old days.  And also in the Black Series.

IG-11 was in the first season of The Mandalorian and voiced by Thor Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.  He helps Mando rescue The Child and later is reprogrammed by the Nick Nolte Ugnaught to help around his farm and take care of The Child.  He's the first one to see Mando's face to heal a head injury and then blows himself up to help Mando and company escape.

So of course there's a figure of him that's not a lot different since they're pretty much the same model.

I've always thought the whole "bounty hunter" thing in ESB was overrated...all those guys who didn't even have a line of dialogue got action figures, backstories, starships, and a fandom built around them for just simply standing in a scene for like two minutes. I agree with the admiral..."we don't need their scum"

The droid in Mando was kinda funny...kept wanting to blow himself up every three seconds and then got reprogrammed into a nursemaid for the baby. I liked that Ugnaught guy, too. :(

Good for IG getting a bigger part in the Star Wars Universe. Too bad he's gone...or is he?

I agree with Christopher - I never understood the appeal of the bounty hunters. But I loved IG-11 in The Mandolorian.

That scene in the season finale was kind of amazing. Also, Waititi is good whatever he does.
